Guess what????? WE ARE HOME!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord! Ethan is breathing room air and holding his own. Just as quickly as he got sick, he started improving just as fast. We took him off of oxygen and he went for that little walk and he never went back on the oxygen. His sats were fluctuating from 90-92 for a little while and then they suddenly started going up to 95 and staying there. He was really complaining of his IV hurting him and when the nurse called the doctor early this evening to see if she could remove it, he said we could go ahead and be discharged when he found out how well Ethan was doing. He also knows we have a sat monitor at home as well as the nebulizer and so I'm sure that helps ease his mind some.
Now, if I could just find some way to give Ethan that attitude adjustment that he so desperately needs. These medicines just do horrible things to him and his personality. He has two more days of steroids that he has to take and then they will have to work their way out of his system. His emotions are all over the place and he is just out of control at times. I don't think he has ever been on this high of a dose of steroids before and he has taken them A LOT of times.
I hope we all get a lot of rest tonight and it will feel really good to be in our own beds!!!
